I’m On The Road Towards My Dream

I just thought that it would be nice to share the lyrics of one of the songs from the musical that are not only true for the character in the musical – but are actually significant at this present time for me as the creator of the work…..enjoy!

Dream a dream, for there is a dream waiting to be found by every man, woman and child upon the face of the earth. It is given to you to enrich your life. It will be the deep taproot that will sustain you throughout the fiercest storms. It will be the anchor that will steady your course.

For there is only one you with a dream that is uniquely yours. As a prospector mines for gold, so too, prospect for your dream. Seek and you will find. Knock and doors will open. Ask and continue to ask until your questions are answered. The dream is there, like ripe fruit on an apple tree waiting patiently to be plucked by you, if you simply dare to dream.

Don’t forget to dust off your dreams and pursue them with all your might. You can do it!

ACT 2, SCENE 1

The street leading to the Spanish Church. – Daytime. The air is filled with the sound of Spanish music.  People are dancing and laughing as the music plays.  The atmosphere reflects Davie’s personal excitement as he enters the scene.

Davie: I’m on the road towards my dream

I dared to hope and now it seems

That all the clouds have disappeared

I’m on the road towards my dream.

I’m movin’ out

I’m movin’ on

But there were times

When I had doubted

I’m movin’ out

I’m movin’ on

Oh there were times

When I discounted

The dream

Or was I simply going mad

Street People: He’s on the road towards his dream

He dared to hope but now it seems

That all the clouds have disappeared

He’s on the road towards his dream

He’s movin’ out

He’s movin’ on

For there were many

Who had shouted

He’s movin’ out

He’s movin’ on

Opinions and views

Have all been routed

And the dream

As it grows

Does make him glad.

Davie: I’m movin’ out

I’m movin’ on

But there were times

When I had doubted

I’m movin’ out

I’m movin’ on

Oh there were times

When I discounted

The dream

But now I’m on the road

Towards my dream

I’m on the road

Towards my dream.
